DIY Chalkboard

Hey Everyone!

Today the round 2 results came in and I made it to round 3!  I'm so excited and can't tell you how thankful I am for everyone that voted!  There were some amazing projects out there and I was a bit nervous!  These ladies have some serious talent and I'm very grateful to be apart of the contest with them.  If you haven't got a chance to check out all the round two projects please visit this link here.  And if you want to see how everyone did with the results of round two please check this link here!

So now that the voting has closed I get to share my entry that was submitted. This week was a hard one for me because I never have used mod podge other than for gluing purposes or as a sealer for burlap.  I really wanted to recreate a Anthropologie mirror,but it was a bit harder then I had originally thought and I had messed up the mirror part too late in the competition to get another mirror and redo it.  So I turned my mirror project into a chalkboard project!  That was the bad news... The good news is, I can do a tutorial on the mirror later on and you all get another great tutorial to look forward to! ;)  Now on to how I created this beauty!

Round Two {Mod Podge}

Family Spotlight Photo Display Tutorial

About a year ago on pinterest I came across this sign that had a grandkids saying on it and had pictures hung from it with clothes pins! (I'm Not sure who made it but I will check if I can find it again to reference it here.)  I thought to myself I need to make that for "More Grammy!"  In our family we call "The Man's" Grandma, "Grammy."  We now call her "More Grammy" because we had a little girl and "The Man's" Mom is now Grammy.  ;)  

...ANYWAYS...

I knew I had to make it for her because she has so many grandkids and great grandkids.  Since her birthday was coming up I had the perfect gift Idea.  What do you get a lady that has everything? You make her something! ;)

Exciting NEWS

Hey Everyone!

Some quick exciting news I would like to share with everyone!  I know we are new to the blog world but I have to say I am Loving everything about it from inspiration to our fellow bloggers and their great posts, to even the exciting response we have had to a few of our projects we posted.  With that said I'm excited to anounce that we have made it into the top 20 for the crafting contest held by One Artsy Mama.  Make sure you guys follow along with the contest for some great ideas and inspiration.  The other ladies are very talented and I am just blessed to be added to the group.  I will post where you can vote once each round is done!  Lets see how far I can make it! Mothers Day & Upcoming Tutorials

Hey Everyone!!

I had a great Mothers day! Spent the day over at one of our families house and had a BBQ with Jello shots and fun in the sun!  It was a gorgeous day!  I got Beautiful flowers from AB and "The Man"  I wanted to put them in something other than a pretty vase so of course I found a Mason jar out in the garage that "The Man had screws in and washed it up and tied some Hash twine around it and wah-la!

I also got the New iPad as a gift from my wonderful husband!  Mostly because I think "The Man" wanted my old one.  I had a 32GB First generation and I told him if I ever got a new one he could have it.  But I'm Not complaining!  I Love it and I've already been reading like crazy on it.  The Visuals are just crazy clear!  I'm currently reading the "Divergent Trilogy" and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!  If you loved the Hunger Games you will love Divergent!  Heres a link to the book for download! I'm already on the Second book that just came out the beginning of May. So go check it out!

I've been working on some really exciting tutorials coming to the blog later this week!!  Here is what you have to look forward to!

My Story To A Healthy Lifestyle

We all have our reasons for eating healthy and working out. Here is my journey on a healthier lifestyle. It has been 3 years of learning and lots of bumps in the road, but I wouldn't change it for the world. 

March 17, 2009--the day that will forever stick in my head. I put on a green sweatshirt since I obviously didn't want to get pinched--and because it was the only green piece of clothing that still fit me. I went in the bathroom and started getting ready for work. Looked at myself in the mirror and smiled---but on the inside I wasn't smiling. I was deeply depressed and tired of being unhappy with myself; despite all the great things that was going for me. That day I made a commitment to myself. I was going to get healthy and lose weight.

A few weeks back Sarah announced that I would be co-blogging with her. It has taken me sometime to actually sit down and write a blog, but don't worry it won't always be like this.
